Here are some photos from a Family Home Evening Night a few weeks ago. We went to play in the snow and visit our neighbor’s miniature horses. About a week before the miraculously “warm” weather, actually. And now it’s about the same temperatures again, and the snow keeps on falling. Pardon the somewhat blurry pictures. My camera does not like the cold, either.

So I thought we were looking at a miracle when it hit 50 degrees on Sunday and sent the boys out to play in just sweaters and scarves, then Tuesday we had a high of 60! If that’s not park weather I don’t know what is. I even took Eva outside to play. Well, observe from the baby carrier anyway! She would watch her brothers climb and swing and just giggle and gab… she’s already SUCH a chatterbox. Now if only I could catch it on camera… and figure out how to upload it.

I’m posting pics from Sunday, and Tuesday. Alas, last night it snowed and hasn’t really let up since. We’ve already got at least four inches.

This is more like what I normally do with it. For some reason, it never seems to like to do it on Sundays.

My mom and dad got us an art easel for Christmas, and boy do the kids enjoy it! We are even taking art lessons. A wonderful woman in our area has agreed to teach family lessons once a week, so I get to learn too! So naturally I had to put up a bulletin board to show off all their artwork… the fridge was just not big enough!

Your neighbor uses a backhoe to clear his drive

The “warming trend” for the week means a high of 18 degrees

You dress your baby girl in about 11 layers of clothing… for staying inside.

Ah well, she doesn’t seem to mind.

In our church it is traditional for the father to give the child their name and blessing, similar to a Christening in other faiths. Oftentimes special counsel or blessings are given at that time, and it’s just a unique opportunity to get a glimpse into how Heavenly Father sees this amazing little person so new to us. We blessed Evangeline on Sunday, and the Spirit felt there was just wonderful. We feel she will be such an influence for good in the world, and we are so blessed to have her in our home. She is one of the most joyful people I know, and she’s only an infant! We love her so much. Here are some pictures to enjoy:

So we had all her nicknames picked out already, but we don’t call her those nearly as often as we call her “Bina.” Short for “Bella Bambina*.”Other names include Jellybean-a, Princess, Pumpkin, Miss Bliss, and Snookums. Just kidding about the Snookums.

*Oddly enough it’s from that song by Crowded House. I just kept hearing it run through my head when I was holding her… “she’ll be my bella bambina uh-huh…” Though I’m not even entirely sure that’s the way the song goes, but there you are. She is now Bean-a. Click ahead for more pix.
