Why, do you ask, would a mom with plenty of funny and odd happenings of disaster with three boys, being masters of disaster, in the house, pause to write a post about simply a "near distaster"? Well, because this disaster nearly burned down the house.
Well, it’s official. It’s cold. 37 degrees. Feels like 31. Snowing. The whole cup of cocoa. Speaking of which, we homebodies enjoyed very much at our snack time today.
I have to say, Conan is the best Dad I’ve ever even heard about. So, after our day-long adventure to the Detroit area, we finally get home around 6pm and Neils asks Dad if they can build something together. Not with Legos, mind you, with wood. You know, like a car. What does the world’s most amazing Dad (who has only slept about 4 hours and not had a nap) say?
Well they got the wheels done, anyway, and they’ll be working on the body as soon as Dad gets home from his business trip. What an awesome guy I married!
So we were planning to go to the temple with our good friends out here and do a swap (while one couple attended a session, the other couple would watch all the kids and vice versa), but when their youngest child came down with the Croupe, we had a decision to make: 1. Cancel all plans, or 2. Make it work. We chose the latter.
So, we’re a little late posting these, but a few days before Halloween, we finally got around to carving a pumpkin. We bought a pile of pumpkins from a local farmer, in the traditional way for our neck of the woods; by dropping the money into a coffee can money box, on our honor to pay the prices listed. I love that something like that works in this area. In California I think you’d get robbed blind.
Nope. Not even one. I did happen to get a few on my phone camera… but that’s where they’ll stay until I figure out how to magically get them onto my blog. Any hints out there? Yes, I probably have users manual somewhere, but I have no idea where that may be. So until then, you’ll just have to use your imaginations.
