Burke has been a bit slow on the word speaking thing. In general he hasn’t seemed to want to use any specific form of communication at all. He prefers a general “Uhhh,” which usually escalates to a “Uuhhhhh!!!,” then to an ear-splitting “EEEEEEE!!” He knows a decent amount of signs but usually doesn’t choose to use them except as a last I’d-rather-die resort.
However, recently he has begun to use partially coherant single syllabels or combinations of several to approximate real words. He’s gotten pretty good at “Ma,” “Da,” and “ba” (ball) and “baboo” (baloon).
Of course his piercing screems still far outnumber any humane form of communication.

Here’s Neils by our make-shift work bench:

Oh dear. Here I am. Writing a blog. I’m pretty nervous… having all my private thoughts made public. But here I am nonetheless. Conan made me do it.
I am seriously not exactly sure what I’m supposed to write about… Conan says it’s just like a journal, but I’m not sure I want the world to see how ridiculous I can sometimes be… most people search blogs looking for words of wisdom, or ideas on solutions for random stuff in life… I don’t feel like I’m quite sage enough to fill that role, either. We’ll just see how this pans out.
