Chipped Table
This morning, Neils was playing with his trucks, and started banging on things. I heard Melissa yell at him and put him in his room. When I went into the living room, I found that he had chipped the table that her mom had given to her, which had come from her grandmother.
Melissa felt bad to hear him cry in his room, but I think that especially since there are very few things that we don’t let him do (mostly because he’s such a good kid), that it’s important for him to have consequences, even for things he may not know are wrong yet. As long as we’re consistent, he’ll learn. Besides, we usually only put him in his room for a minute or two, then talk to him about what he did wrong.
